Brett Gardner entered free agency this year as the New York Yankees longest-tenured player and it appears his streak of playing in the Bronx is set to continue for at least another season.

The Yankees have signed Gardner to a one-year contract with an option for a second season, bringing him back for his 13th season in pinstripes.

Gardner, 36, is one of the biggest leaders on the Yankees, having a decade of experience playing in the winning culture that they have fostered.

Last year marked the seventh-straight season for Gardner appearing in at least 140 games and he put together yet another solid campaign.

The left-handed outfielder hit .251/.325/.503, setting new career-highs with 28 home runs and 74 RBIs.

With Aaron Hicks currently recovering from elbow surgery, the Yankees needed to add some depth in center field and Gardner certainly fits that bill.

The Yankees are simply putting the finishing touches to their roster at this point, after the landmark signing of Gerrit Cole made them one of the early favorites to win it all next year.

Mike Trout is going to get some help in the middle of the lineup next year, as the Los Angeles Angels have come to terms with All-Star Anthony Rendon.

Rendon was the biggest bat on the free agent market and he now signs with the Angels on a hefty seven-year, $245 million contract.

Rendon is coming off a career-year, which ended with him winning his first World Series title with the Washington Nationals.

In the playoffs, Rendon hit .345 across the three series’, proving to be a clutch bat whenever the Nationals needed a big hit. That included eight RBIs in the World Series, as Washington beat the Houston Astros in seven games.

Rendon is really hitting free agency at the perfect time, as his numbers were up their with the best hitters in baseball in 2019.

The 29-year-old hit .319/.412/.598, with 34 home runs, 126 RBIs and 117 runs scored. Rendon led the league in RBIs and also in double with 44.

It was the first All-Star season of Rendon’s career and his second season winning the Silver Slugger Award at third base.

Rendon has spent his entire career with the Nationals, after being drafted by the team in the first round of the 2011 MLB Draft.

Across parts of seven seasons in Washington, Rendon was a .290 hitter and had 136 home runs, 245 doubles and 546 RBIs.

The Angels got a lot better with this signing, as they now feature two premier talents to build their lineup around in Rendon and their incumbent superstar, Mike Trout.

Adam Jones has been one of the best players in the MLB for over a decade, as the 14-year veteran has enjoyed an incredible career.

Jones’ career resume includes five All-Star appearances, four Gold Gloves and a Silver Slugger. He was also part of the U.S.A. team that won the World Baseball Classic in 2017.

Now the great American-born player is taking his talents overseas, as Jones has announced that he will be signing a two-year contract to finish his career playing baseball in Japan.

Jones, 34, was a long-time Baltimore Oriole, spending 11 seasons as their starting center fielder.

Throughout his Orioles career, Jones hit .279, with 263 home runs, 305 doubles, 866 RBIs and 875 runs scored.

Jones spent last season with the Arizona Diamondbacks and still produced solid numbers with 16 home runs and 67 RBIs in 137 games played.

Now Jones will transition away from his MLB career and instead begin a new career as a star player in Japan.

Hopefully Jones enjoys a great few years in Japan and can finish his playing career on his own terms.
