In their first year with LeBron James in Los Angeles, the Lakers have endured a turbulent season to say the least.
The Lakers are currently 4.5 games behind the San Antonio Spurs for the eighth seed in the Western Conference and are in real danger of missing the playoffs altogether.
If the Lakers do miss the playoffs, or even if they don’t, it appears that this will be head coach Luke Walton’s final season with the team.
Luke Walton is just the next one in a long line of LeBron’s former coaches who have been the scapegoat for the team’s lack of success.
Walton had his work cut out for him coaching James, as he is only four years older than him and has a much less impressive resume.
Now James will get to handpick a new head coach to take over for Walton. If there is one thing that we already know about this new coach, it is that you are always on the hot seat when coaching LeBron James.
Bucks Completely Dismantle Raptors in Game 2
The Milwaukee Bucks are really starting to look like a champion, as they have been dominating everything in their path so far in the playoffs.
After a tightly contested Game 1 loss, the Raptors looked like no match for the Bucks tonight as they were losing by 25 points after the first half.
While the Raptors put up a better fight in the second half, they still were no match for Milwaukee as they cruised to the victory.
This win makes the Bucks 10-1 since the start of the playoffs. Considering the fact that Milwaukee also had the best record in the NBA this season, their playoff dominance should not come as such a surprise.
The Raptors will need to change up their game plan in Game 3 on Sunday, if they want any chance to get back in this series.
Tyreke Evans Dismissed From NBA For Violating Anti-Drug Policy
Tyreke Evans’ NBA career came to a screeching halt today, after he violated the league’s anti-drug policy.
As a result of violation, Evans was essentially banned from all league activities.
While we do not know the specifics of his violation, you can table all of your Stephen A. Smith, “STAY OFF THE WEEEEEEED” jokes as the league does not ban players for marijuana use.
Regardless of the cause, this a real fall from grace for Evans as a player who has had a really solid NBA career up to this point.
Evans is just a year removed from averaging 19.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 5.2 assists with the Memphis Grizzlies. This year, Evans helped the Indiana Pacers make the playoffs despite losing their best player Victor Oladipo to injury early in the season.
Now Evans will have to wait a few years before he can even try to resume his NBA career.
Hopefully Evans can return to the NBA and end his career on a much better note in a few years.
Warriors Erase 15-Point First Half Deficit to Win Game 2
Even without Kevin Durant, the Golden State Warriors have successfully defended their home court advantage by winning the first two games of the Western Conference Finals.
Tonight, the Warriors found themselves in big hole after being outscored by the Portland Trail Blazers 65-50 in the first half.
Golden State thoroughly dominated the third quarter though to get back into the game, as they erased Portland’s lead altogether by outscoring the Trail Blazers by 15 points in the quarter.
Portland did play better in the fourth quarter and even had a lead in the game’s final minute, but Golden State was able to make the plays to escape with a win.
Now the Warriors will go on the road to play Game 3 in Portland on Saturday night. If the Trail Blazers don’t come away with a victory in that game, you can basically kiss their season goodbye.
